Well time has certainly flown by over the past 2 months. We returned back home after staying with David's parents for 2 weeks. We had the house professionally cleaned as there was smoke and ash damage. The garden on the other hand still looks like a pile of rubble! We have plans for a Busy Bee over 2 weekends in May so any family and friends can come and help us to rebuild and repair. The plan is to get it looking back to normal and put it back on the market. We will rent during this time as it was just too hard trying to do home opens and spur of the moment inspections by potential buyers. Once we have sold, we will then make the decision whether to build on our 5 acre block in Parkerville or to sell that too and buy established. So we are all looking forward to those busy bee weekends so we can move forward and move on!
The shire has been a great support and has offered to demolish all 72 houses that were burnt to the ground and all damaged structures. So our fence, pergola and shed will be removed shortly. Every day we hear bulldozers and someones lively hood being scraped up into the back of a dump truck. Its so sad to hear. But many, including our next door neighbors, have planned to rebuild.
The weather has finally started to cool. We have been having temperatures still in the 30s up to the middle of April and still no rain. So the cool change has been welcomed.
